Here is a gourmet recipe with this bacon chicken burger and its delicious doormats.

Ingredients for 4 persons :

Apples doormats:

  • 700 g of potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 40g butter
  • Salt, freshly ground pepper


  • 4 large lettuce leaves
  • 4 tbsp. tablespoon flour
  • 4 tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 4 chicken fillets
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 30g butter
  • 200 g of Comté
  • 4 square (or round) rolls
  • 4 tbsp. ketchup

Bacon chicken burgers, potato doormats

To make the mats potatoes:

- Peel and wash the potatoes, grate them. Place them in a bowl of water and let stand for 1 hour in the fridge, covered.

- Peel and chop the onions.

- Drain the potatoes, add the chopped onions.

- Beat the eggs in an omelet, pour them into the previous mixture.

Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

- Melt the butter in a frying pan, place a cookie cutter the size of bread rolls in it and fill it with the potato mixture to make a mat of medium thickness. Cook in the pan for 5 minutes on each side. Repeat the operation 3 times to obtain 4 doormats.

- Wash and wring out the salad leaves.

- In 3 different plates, place the flour, breadcrumbs and beaten egg.

Dip each chicken fillet successively in the flour, in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs. Reserve 10 minutes in the fridge.

- Brown the bacon slices in a pan without fat to make them slightly crispy.

- In another pan, melt the butter, cook the chicken fillets for a few minutes until golden brown.

- Place a few shavings of Comté on each chicken fillet.

- Cut the burger buns in half crosswise, toast them for 2 minutes under the grill, then spread them with ketchup.

- On the bread bases, place a chicken fillet, a potato doormat, a salad leaf, and a slice of bacon, close the burgers then enjoy!

The potato is a starch, rich in complex carbohydrates (starch), it indeed manages to stall the most ferocious appetites with a serving of only 200 g. Is it necessary to specify that this contribution depends on the chosen cooking method: in a deep fryer, it doubles… In all cases, note that an early potato is richer in vitamins and minerals, and that a steam cooking allows to preserve as much as possible its nutritional advantages.
